Leicester Bowling Club is one of the longest established clubs in the City. It is located 2 miles south of the town centre just off the A5199 (Welford Rd). It has excellent clubhouse facilities and a bowls green that is rated amongst the best in Leicestershire.

Bowls England

Bowls England is the national governing body for the sport of bowls in England. It organizes various events and competitions for individuals and clubs, such as the National Championships, which are held annually in Royal Leamington Spa. Bowls England also represents England in international tournaments, such as the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games. Bowls England aims to promote and develop the sport of bowls for all ages and abilities, and to provide support and guidance to its affiliated clubs and members. Bowls England is one of 54 Member National Authorities that are part of World Bowls, the global organization for bowls.

Bowls Leicestershire

Bowls Leicestershire is an organisation that supports all BE Affiliated Bowling Clubs in Leicestershire. It has 81 affiliated clubs with over 3,000 members. It also runs county competitions and championships for men and women, as well as mixed events. Some of the competitions qualify for the national championships at Leamington Spa. Bowls Leicestershire has a website that provides information on club development, recruitment, retention, fixtures, results, sponsors and more.

Leicester & District Bowls League

The Leicester & District Bowls League is a men’s rinks league that was established in 1970 and welcomes affiliated clubs in and around Leicester. The league has three divisions, each with six clubs that play each other twice, home and away. The top teams in Division 2 North and South are promoted to Division 1, while the bottom two teams in Division 1 are relegated to Division 2. The league also organizes a KO Cup competition and representative matches against Bowls Leicestershire for the Bill Lyons trophy.
